GE Healthcare Asia Accounts Payable Finance Manager in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

The Asia Accounts Payable (AP) Finance Manager, is responsible for overseeing and driving improvements in AP for GEHC in APAC and China. They will partner with 3rd party service providers to improve the business experience with the AP processes. This includes ensuring critical KPI’s and SLA agreements related to AP are properly set, monitored and achieved, as well as ensuring a sustainable reduction in the backlog of overdue (on-hold) vendor invoices. The role will monitor financial and operational risk related to AP and drive actions to mitigate risks. The Asia AP Finance Manger will also drive process improvements and support system changes by ensuring the right level of engagement for impacted teams occurs and changes are properly communicated to key business stakeholders. The AP Finance Manager will develop strong working relationships with Sourcing, Treasury, Cash, IT and other related teams to ensure hand-offs between processes are robust and that changes in process and systems are communicated to all.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Forge strong relationships with 3rd party AP leadership teams, other shared service teams and within GEHC to deliver on key objectives to increase the level of business support and satisfaction (voice of customer)

  • Drive initiatives to reduce complexity and help improve the overall source to pay process to become a more efficient and stable organization.

  • Support and oversee the APAC and China AP teams, and champion their projects, e.g. with IT, to overcome any delays or challenges and ensure appropriate prioritization

  • Track to execution key Source to Pay (S2P) projects/tool rollouts and advise on any challenges that arise and propose solutions.

  • Partner with Cash, Treasury & IT leaders and teams to ensure robust hand-offs between AP and other teams on day to day activities and improvement projects.

  • Develop relations with sourcing teams to support initiatives and gain engagement from sourcing to support AP initiatives including vendor master clean-up, electronic invoicing and hold reductions.

  • Define AP targets and monitor KPI’s to measure performance and investigate trends and patterns.

  • Maintain and develop the level of visibility that GEHC leaders and buyers have with holds, aged AP & GRNI, and other key data points

  • Drive best practice sharing across regions and promote alignment to common tools, data sets, KPIs, training.

  • Keep stakeholders, including GEHC leadership, finance leadership (e.g. Site leads and Regional Controllers) and the buyer community, informed through regular updates and communications

  • Request dedicated AP surge resources if required and monitor structure and performance of AP teams, providing input on how to improve in addition to coaching and mentoring key team members, providing guidance and steer, leveraging shared learnings globally

  • Champion the AP teams, encouraging their ongoing development, improvement, and stability

  • Work closely with the GEHC Global AP Governance team, sharing knowledge, challenges, and learnings

  • Advise the Tungsten/ERS teams on any learnings and feedback from the business users to aid increased take-up of electronic invoicing

  • Help co-ordinate resolution of any emergency issues with overdue payments as required

  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and adherence to sourcing and AP related policies occur

  • Support CAS, KPMG/Deloitte, and external audit requests

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner

  • External focus: capable of forging strong relationships with finance and non-finance leaders

  • Qualified accountant with minimum of 5 years post qualification experience OR Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, orother business-related field and 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience

  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP or another internationally recognized accounting framework and authoritative accounting literature

  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of S2P useful, but not essential

  • Experience of controllership useful, but not essential

  • Clear thinker / problem solver: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information and in different or unexpected circumstances

  • Proficient use of financial systems
