Job Description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a strategic growth area for Oracle. It is a comprehensive cloud service offering in the enterprise software industry, spanning Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). OCI is currently building a future-ready Gen2 cloud Data Science service platform. At the core of this platform, lies Cloud AI Cloud Service.

What OCI AI Cloud Services are: A set of services on public cloud, that are powered by ML and AI to meet the Enterprise modernization needs, and that work out of the box. These services and models can be easily specialized for specific customers/domains by improving existing OCI services.

Key Points: Enables customers to add AI capabilities to their Apps and Workflows easily via APIs or Containers, Useable without needing to build AI expertise in-house and Covers key gaps – Computer Vision, for Public Clouds and Enterprises in NLU, NLP, Vision, and Conversational AI.

We are addressing exciting challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and brand-new cloud infrastructure. We are building cloud services in Computer Vision (Image / Video Analysis), Document Understanding, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Speech, and Decision Support that work out of the box for enterprises. Our product vision includes the ability for enterprises to be able to customize the services for their business and train them to specialize in their data by creating micro models that enhance the global AI models.

What You’ll Do

Design and implement advanced computer vision algorithms and models demonstrating deep learning, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), Transformers, and other relevant techniques.

Conduct research to identify new innovative deep learning-based computer vision approaches, algorithms, and methodologies.

Collaborate multi-functionally with product managers, software engineers, and other collaborators to understand business needs and devise solutions that align with strategic objectives.

Collaborate with data engineers and teams to gather and curate high-quality datasets for training and validation purposes.

Lead a team of researchers and engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Contribute to patent submissions and publish research findings in tier-1 conferences and journals to establish the organization's thought leadership in AI.

Qualifications

Ph.D. degree (preferred) or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, operations research, or related technical field.

5+ for PhD or equivalent experience or 8+ years for Master of Experience designing and implementing machine learning models in production environments.

In-depth understanding of the current innovation on various computer vision tasks like image classification, object detection and segmentation, object tracking, image captioning, visual question and answering, video summarization, etc.

Working experience with algorithms/models for CNN/Transformer architecture for image classification like EfficientNet, VIT, object detection like Yolo, DETR, text detection using differential binarization, text recognition using Sequence networks, etc.

Experience with Foundation Models for Vision tasks like Segment Anything, Stable Diffusion, DINO, CLIP etc.

Experience with Large Vision Models for Vision tasks like Image/Video Captioning, Image/Video Retrieval, Image/Video Q&A

Practical experience and deep knowledge in algorithms for usage of Semi/Self-supervised learning for different computer vision tasks.

Shown experience in designing and implementing deep learning models for computer vision applications, using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java, and experience with relevant libraries and tools.

Deep understanding of data structures, and algorithms, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Strong aim to learn and master new technologies and techniques

You enjoy a fast-paced work environment.

Additional Details

Publication in tier-1 conferences related to machine learning and computer vision like NeurIPS, CVPR, ECCV, etc. is a plus.

Experience with Cloud Native Frameworks tools and products is a plus

Having an impressive portfolio on Kaggle Profile is a plus.
