Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Applicants must also be able to communicate effectively with other staff and with park patrons.
Duties Description The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Park Manager or their designee and will perform or assist with park office duties including, but not limited to: •Represent the agency and park in a positive and friendly manner as one of the first points of contact with the public. •Process shelter reservations and season pass applications, making sure they are done in a timely and neat manner.•Assist in the training of staff in cash handling and operation of cash registers and credit card terminals while making sure the staff is given proper information on all park policies and regulations.•Answer both telephone and patron questions, directing calls to the appropriate recipient, providing clear and accurate information to all customers.•Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor under demanding conditions. •Assist the Park Manager or their designee with preparing bank deposits, weekly/monthly revenue and attendance reports, and financial stationary reconciliation. •Ensure the most current information is available to the public regarding events, entertainment, pricing, park policies, and operating schedules, etc. •Supervise a crew of lower-level or seasonal staff in various cash handling areas.
Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS: •Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as a term and condition of employment.•Must be proficient in the use of computers to facilitate proper use of Field Manager, Store Manager, and Parks Operation and Revenue Tracking System. •Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other applicable programs and applications. •Must be able to continuously maintain a neat and professional appearance and project a positive and welcoming demeanor in the presence of the public.•Must be available to work a variable schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.•Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.
