Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Assist departments and employees with time tracking questions as needed.
  • Review time tracking county-wide to ensure accuracy of data entered.
  • Reconciles monthly benefit billings and HR of changes to employee coverages as needed.
  • Reconciles law enforcement entity billings and submits for monthly or quarterly reimbursement.
  • Serves as backup for other payroll sections providing support for workers compensation, mid-and end of month payroll reports and year-end reports.
  • Assists employees with payroll questions and concerns and aids with any necessary changes that affects pay.
  • Maintains payroll documents filed and archived according to state retention codes.
  • Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of payroll experience. Workday knowledge/experience preferred:

or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving history.
