JOB REQUIREMENTS: Senior Buyer - 1103 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Summary Responsible for performance improvement of specific purchased materials, equipment and/or services that support FM business goals and objectives regarding price control/cost reduction, delivery performance, service and quality expectations. Comply with policies and procedures to insure appropriate internal controls are followed in compliance with government regulations. Principle Duties and Responsibilities 1. Execute/generate compliant purchase orders based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of services and materials 2. Perform a variety of general tactical duties as required to support purchasing activities 3. Reconcile supplier problems including aiding in supplier root cause and corrective action, non-conformance control and supplier accountability and responsiveness. 4. Solicit bids, negotiate pricing and terms and conditions, maintain lead time data integrity and process price requests to marketing in a timely manner. 5. Develop alternate sources, ensuring continuity of supplies, consistency of quality and competitive pricing. Must also take into consideration non-price factors. 6. Work within a team environment and perform other purchasing functions as required. 7. Manage any supplier issues (i.e., cost, quality, delivery, customer service) 8. Serve as the primary contact between company personnel and assigned suppliers 9. Maintain sound professional relationships with suppliers. Resolve issues (e.g. pricing, quality, timing, claims, contract disputes, etc.) associated with terms and conditions of service agreements . 10. Evaluate suppliers through business reviews with objective and data driven performance measurements. This includes but is not limited to cost reduction projects, delivered quality, service performance and overall stability of supplier operations to minimize supply chain risk. 11. Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years of experience in Purchasing 2. Must possess strong organizational skills and have demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer relations skills. 3. Experience in an MRP buyer/planner environment, knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes including reading blueprints and experience implementing lean manufacturing principles including Kanban are required. 4. Competence in the use of Windows, Microsoft Office, experience with Oracle ERP system a plus. 5. Must be able to travel as necessary (some foreign travel possible) 6. Ability to understand military specs and read blue prints 7. Ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement, contracts, breach by contract, etc. 8. Knowledge of price and cost analysis 9.
