Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on all food production plant equipment. This includes working on case packers, processing machines, blenders, grinders, scales, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes. You will be part of either the Canning or Packaging maintenance departments and will handle machinery such as casers, sifters, dumpers, and boilers. Your tasks will also involve testing voltages, wiring motors, using a multimeter, troubleshooting 480V and 3-phase systems, reading schematics, motor control, fuses, and diagnosing DC voltage issues and contactors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.

  • Repair and troubleshoot case packers, processing machines, and other plant machinery.

  • Work with blenders, grinders, scales, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.

  • Handle machinery in Canning and Packaging departments.

  • Test voltages and wire motors using a multimeter.

  • Troubleshoot 480V and 3-phase systems.

  • Read and interpret schematics.

  • Diagnose motor control, fuses, and DC voltage issues.

  • Identify and troubleshoot contactors and megamotors.

Essential Skills

  • Maintenance technician experience

  • Mechanical repair skills

  • Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge

  • Preventive maintenance experience

  • 1 year of industrial maintenance experience in food production

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Electrical skills

  • Welding experience

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics

  • Proficiency with hand tools

  • Industrial fabrication experience

  • Food manufacturing experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Apprenticeship experience with 500+ hours

  • Open to recent graduates or individuals with 1 year of industrial maintenance experience

Work Environment

The facility operates three shifts: 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm, M-F) and 3rd shift (9:00pm-5:00am or 10:00pm-6:00am, M-F). Employees may work 8-12 hours a day and every other weekend. The facility is large, with work areas ranging from freezers to hot zones. The dress code includes steel toes, hearing and eye protection, hair and beard nets, a hard hat, and a uniform provided by the company.

This is a Permanent position based out of Beloit, Wisconsin.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00
