About the Position

As our temporary custodian, you will perform custodial assignments necessary to maintain the cleanliness and care of the facilities including academic, residential, and athletic.

A basic list of responsibilities include:

  • Emptying trash

  • Dusting

  • Vacuuming

  • Checking fixtures and making note of damage

  • Interim floor and carpet care

  • Spot cleaning of carpets

  • Polishing

  • Cleaning door glass

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Operating cleaning equipment

  • Cleaning lockers and benches

  • Setting up and removing furniture

  • Assisting as required on snow removal

  • Mixing chemicals for cleaning

  • Disinfecting, cleaning and sanitizing

  • Stripping, cleaning, buffing and applying finish to floors

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Effectively read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions as provided by management

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work in an educational environment

  • Proven ability to work independently and in groups

Salary$18.44/hour

Bargaining UnitThis position is covered by a Washington Federation of State Employees bargaining union.
