Amazon Software Development Engineer, NASC Labor Tech Team in Bellevue, Washington

Come and be part of the team that enables NASC middle mile network (Sort Centers), the backbone to our transportation logistics network efficiently serving our customers.

We are looking for a motivated, experienced, Software Development Engineer to join the Labor Planning and Tech (LP&T) team to help us build applications that enable higher labor planning accuracy, efficiency and speed of decision making at scale. The engineer will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, and launch of core products and features.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding technical leadership skills, proven ability to develop AWS products focused on helping our customers drive towards 100% availability of the applications and workloads. They work across the full stack - from scalable backend services, distributed data processing systems to intuitive UX, along with potential opportunities in data science and machine learning space. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

  • Build full stack scalable software applications - manage medium to large scale projects within the AWS environment that scale to an entire region or globally

  • Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions

  • Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables

  • Mentor & grow engineers across the team, leading by example and insisting on high standards

  • Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.

  • Develop partnerships needed to be developed with multiple teams to be able to access and understand data.

  • Lead discussions and advise product, operational and engineering teams on key improvement projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
