Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Cross Border Fulfillment - Pan Region FBA in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Enable sellers to sell from anywhere and to anywhere in the world on the Amazon platform.

The Amazon Global Mile Cross Border Fulfillment (XBF) team evangelizes businesses and software solutions to break down barriers and enable third-party sellers to sell their products to customers around the world.

The XBF team is responsible for the development of software that enables sellers to expand their business to new customers around the world through an increased selection of their products for sale in new countries, exports, and supply chain optimizations. This platform is pivotal to supporting third-party business expansion by creating new opportunities for sellers to introduce their products to customers worldwide. We need your help to grow the business by building highly available, scalable distributed systems that provide clean interfaces between sellers, customers, and Amazon's software.

Key job responsibilities

A SDE-II on the team will deliver results by disambiguating business requirements and cross-functional organizations' architectures to meet the requirements, leading and executing design and architectural innovations, implementing high-quality, highly scalable and maintainable software solutions, and collaborating with and developing engineers across the organization.

A day in the life

  • Collaborate with product and program managers, software development engineers at all levels, across functional Amazon organizations (such as: Offer Management, Inventory Management, Supply Chain Optimization, etc) to bring order to ambiguous business scenarios.

  • Design and implement highly scalable architectures and system components to meet the requirements of high-scale business programs, that involve billions of transactions per day.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineering members of the team and across the organization to raise the engineering bar.

  • Maintain the health of day-to-day system operations and influence the minimization of operational burden.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
