Position Duties* *

Sr. Engineers, Systems Architecture to develop and evolve technical network and service architectures and design strategies to maintain, enhance, and evolve T-Mobile technology portfolio; and create, adapt or revise detailed schematics of network and service architecture, hardware and software selections, and implementation techniques and processes.  Perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation, test results, or leading-edge technology studies. Apply technical documentation and presentation skills to translate complex ideas to stakeholders and management team.* *

*Job Duties and Responsibilities *

  • Evaluate, plan, design, and develop advanced network technologies by translating customer requirements or strategic business objectives into a final product design for projects of the highest complexity and technologies.
  • Apply experience with end-to-end flow of GSM/UMTS and LTE and 3GPP standards.
  • Drive timeline and vendor roadmaps to ensure that T-Mobile requirements are adequately met and to close any development gaps.
  • Support cross-functional teams throughout the entire life of the product. Products include mobile data services, EPC network platforms (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, DRA, HSS), and IP services including DNS, IP Routers, and load balancers.
  • Apply experience in mobile EPC core network nodes, including MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS.
  • Apply experience in application protocols in mobile packet Core, which include NAS, S1AP, S1-U, GTPv1, S11, S5/S8, Diameter, GTPP, S6a, Gx, Gy, Charging.
  • Apply experience with IP network protocol stacks including TCP, UDP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP.
  • Evaluate new and existing technology options that support business goals.
  • Lead initiatives for network trials and proof of concepts.
  • Apply experience developing design documents, performing network integration, validating network implementation, and optimizing mobile data networks and services.
  • Coordinate with cross functional teams and vendors and collaborate with stakeholders to create network designs that interface with several 3GPP network functions, scale nationwide, comprising several data centers, and continue to provide service to customers using high availability techniques.
  • Drive to improve designs, processes, and products by reducing cost, establishing and promoting standards-based technology solutions and improving efficiency and quality. Collaborate with product design and business development on technical solution options and write detail network design documents. 

Minimum Functional and Technical Skill Requirements

 

Applicant's experience must include:

 

  • Experience with end-to-end flow of GSM/UMTS and LTE and 3GPP standards;

  • Experience in application protocols in mobile packet Core, which include NAS, S1AP, S1-U, GTPv1, S11, S5/S8, Diameter, GTPP, S6a, Gx, Gy, Charging;

  • Developing design documents, performing network integration, validating network implementation, and optimizing mobile data networks and services; and
  • Coordinating with cross functional teams and vendors and collaborating with stakeholders to create network designs that interface with several 3GPP network functions, scale nationwide, comprising several data centers, and continue to provide service to customers using high availability techniques.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.
