Requisition Summary PACCAR's On-Board Diagnostics team is looking for an individual with strong Engine or Aftertreatment Calibration experience. The candidate will support Manufacturing Self-Test, DDE testing, Running Business and In-Use Compliance. Candidate will specialize in calibrating software algorithms that detect failures of emission critical systems on class 8 heavy duty trucks. Job Functions / Responsibilities As a member of the OBD team you will have full access to state-of-the-art testing laboratories such as Engine Dynos, Climatic Chassis Dyno, Portable Chassis Dyno, and closed course test track. Job duties include: Using ATI Vision to force the engine to a state suitable for testing in a controlled environment. Using Canalyzer to intercept and overwrite CAN messages from sensors and actuators to the engine. Big data analytics using MATLAB and statistical methods. Diagnostic calibration through simulation. Collaboration with our European colleagues virtually and in person when necessary. Cross functional collaboration with other teams within the engine program and truck divisions. Participation in future clean energy initiatives from an OBD perspective. Planning and coordination of testing activities through all phases of development from prototype to production. Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience in the automotive industry Strong knowledge of OBD requirements Ability to gain mastery of MATLAB and Simulink Experience with digital communications such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, etc. Experience with different sensor technologies. Knowledge of statistics for doing big data analytics. OBD crosses many technical domains. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to gain knowledge and understanding outside of core technical expertise. Poses excellent communication skills, able to communicate with experts across different domains and technical levels. Automotive related experience is highly desirable. Experience with ATI Vision, INCA and Vector Canalyzer is desirable. Knowledge of current diesel technology is highly desirable. Works well independently and in a Team Environment Ability to self-teach and identify learning opportunities.
