Bellevue Badminton Club Inc High Performance Badminton Coach in Bellevue, Washington

High Performance Badminton Coach Job Description: Instruct and coach groups and/or individuals in the fundamentals and performance techniques of badminton. Evaluate athletes' strengths/weaknesses and review performance records to determine their potential and/or to improve their technique as part of competition preparation. Contribute to the ongoing development of a world-class training program aimed at producing Olympians. Instruct individuals or groups in sports rules, game strategies, and performance principles, such as specific ways of moving the body, hands, or feet, to achieve desired results; analyze the strengths and weaknesses of opposing teams to develop game strategies; perform activities that support Bellevue Badminton Club and the sport of badminton in general, such as participating in community outreach activities, meeting with media representatives, and appearing at fundraising events; and planning and directing physical conditioning programs that will enable athletes to achieve maximum performance. Requires ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of entire body, and up to 25% domestic and international travel for competitions, classes, and/or events. Telecommuting permitted less than 25% per week. Job Requirements: Primary Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Sports Medicine, or a related field. Three years of badminton coaching experience, including: Coaching in national and international competitions; Adhering to professional standards set by Safe Sport; Developing and carrying out customized lessons and lesson plans for both individuals and groups; Providing training direction, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice; Providing feedback regarding student levelling, progress reports, class placements, and student assessments; Adjusting coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes; and Instructing individuals or groups in badminton rules, strategies, and performance principles. Alternate Requirements: Five (5) years of badminton coaching experience, including: Coaching in national and international competitions; Adhering to professional standards set by Safe Sport; Developing and carrying out customized lessons and lesson plans for both individuals and groups; Providing training direction, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice; Providing feedback regarding student levelling, progress reports, class placements, and student assessments; Adjusting coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes; and Instructing individuals or groups in badminton rules, strategies, and performance principles. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Certification Requirements: USA Badminton/BWF Coaching Certification Level 1. Salary: $65,000 to $100,000 per year.
