Amazon Finance Manager, Inventory Planning and Control (IPC) Finance in Bellevue, Washington

Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager to play a key role on the Inventory Planning and Control (IPC) Finance team, primarily supporting Amazon's exciting innovations in the ever evolving field of Inventory Placement.

The person in this role is responsible for long and short term financial planning, financial controllership of our products, developing and reporting on weekly financial and operational performance metrics, and providing analytical support for Senior Business Management.

This will be a high visibility role across Amazon. This position requires a candidate with strong communication and leadership skills who will have daily/regular interactions with L7/L8/L10 leaders. A portion of the time will be spent on ad hoc analysis to support the growing business needs.

We are looking for a candidate who will be equally comfortable heads-down in data and leading projects to completion and will thrive in an environment of rapid context-switching. You will work cross-functionally across the entire organization including Analytics, Product, Science and FP&A to develop a deep knowledge of Amazon's Supply Chain. You will translate this knowledge into delivering key insights to the Inventory Planning and Control (IPC) organization.

In addition to driving issues to closure and delivering results, we are seeking a candidate who will also help us with improving processes. Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically, strong oral and written communication, problem solving and prioritization skills will also be critical for success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

  • Support the Business Team and the wider finance team, and proactively develop forward-looking projects to scale the business

  • Act as trusted partner to the Business team in making optimal business decisions and highlighting critical blockers, risks, and opportunities that impact ability to meet quarterly/annual goals

  • Drive performance improvements across the sales organization and build the foundation for it to scale. This will include evaluating revenue optimization opportunities, strategic programs to enhance productivity, process redesign, and financial reporting & analysis

  • Assist with co-authoring highly visible and extremely important business reporting to senior management

  • Work closely with team and management to identify systems, data or process needs that can generate revenue

  • Use data systems such as SQL, and Tableau and Quicksight to identify insights and surface to management

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)

  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
