Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer II, Exports, Visibility in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Global Logistics (GL) Exports supports Amazon’s strategic vision of bringing worldwide cross-border product selection at the lowest price to our customers and helping sellers and vendors (manufacturers, distributors and brand owners) navigate international trade and logistics. We design and build products and programs with a focus on customer, seller, and vendor experience, and global scalability.

Key job responsibilities

  • Write high quality optimized SQL to retrieve and analyze data from relational databases (ex. Redshift)

  • Collaborate with other Business Intelligence teams to design and implement ETL data pipelines for extracting and analyzing billions of records from multiple databases.

  • Work closely with Data Engineers and business users to design clean and scalable data sources required for analytics and reporting.

  • Work closely with data scientists and product management to drive data-driven improvements to science artifacts

  • Create user-friendly, repeatable reporting solutions to minimize ad hoc customer requests

  • Define and develop business-critical metrics, reports, key performance indicators, and financials across all forecasting products that are consumable by a wide range of functions and levels.

About the team

GL Exports works directly with logistics cross-border carriers and partner with several stakeholder teams to constantly improve the international delivery experience. In GL Exports, the Exports Visibility team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team in Bellevue. GL Exports is growing rapidly in scope, scale and complexity - driving ever growing data needs to support critical business decisions. Our ideal candidate is someone who is always learning as the business grows and as relevant technologies continue to evolve. Bellevue, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
