Every year, Amazon processes and removes hundreds of millions of damaged and overstock items from its fulfillment centers and reverse fulfills these items to Sellers, Vendors, Liquidators, Charities, and Recyclers. Our team delivers products, features, and programs that reduce removal costs, improve removal performance, eradicate defects, and reduce warehouse fullness.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for modeling complex problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of business intelligence, data mining and visualization techniques. You will need to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to solve problems, create operational efficiencies, and deliver successfully against high organizational standards. The candidate should be able to apply a breadth of tools, data sources and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and present the insights in concise and effective manner. Additionally, the candidate should be an effective communicator capable of independently driving issues to resolution and communicating insights to non-technical audiences. This is a high impact role with goals that directly impacts the bottom line of the business.

This role will focus on WW Removals, mapping warehouse processing of over a billion units, and delivering actionable insights, and developing the first-ever "Perfect Removals" metric. You will have the opportunity to drive significant impact in a long-standing but truly Day 1 space at Amazon.

• Develop scalable methods and practices for data and visualization development

• Actively seek to implement and distribute best practices across the operation

• Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.

• Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete solutions

About the team

We are the WW Removals team, part of the Worldwide Returns & ReCommerce (WW R&R) organization at Amazon.

WW R&R owns WW reverse logistics for Amazon, beginning with alternatives to returns; returns customer experience and transportation; recovery and recommerce channels (e.g. Amazon Warehouse, Liquidations, and Donations, as well as Seller-facing recovery programs); ReLo Ops; customer returns evaluations tools and programs; and finally, removals tools and programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Experience with SQL

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business or financial analysis experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
