Chewy, Inc. Associate Director, Software Engineering in Bellevue, Washington

Chewy, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Software Engineering at our Bellevue, WA location to manage a team of software engineers and other disciplines responsible for building Chewy's Customer Engagement Platform. Recruit and hire new engineers and mentor the growth of the existing team. Drive technical decisions and work with product management and across non-technical organizations to prioritize and drive engineering investments. Review implementations, provide feedback for managers and individual contributors. Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams. Collaborate on design and implementation of scalable environments for development and testing. Identify and manage priorities within the context of overall corporate objectives, drive 1-, 2- and 3-year plans. Work with others in Engineering Management to drive best practices in software development, testing, and production deployment. 5% domestic travel required. Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, and 8 years of experience. Will accept Masters and 6 years of experience. Experience must include 6 years with: engineering management; implementing and managing significant software development projects (APIs, data stores, rules engines, scaling web application development); multiple testing disciplines (e.g. APIs, Functional UI testing, Performance testing, data-oriented systems test, distributed systems, etc); working with very large data sets and Data Science methodologies. Experience must also include: software engineering; multiple technology stacks including both static and dynamic programming languages as well as building data pipelines; Agile/Scrum methodology. 5% domestic travel required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Our salary range for an Associate Director Software Engineering position is $229,986 to $255,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
