Position Summary

 

The Assistant Director of Emergency Operations reports to the Director of Public Safety. The Assistant Director of Emergency is responsible for facilitating the development and implementation of campus emergency planning response and preparedness, activities, training and exercises, program development, and outreach functions in order to protect college students, employees, and property from any preventable harm or danger. This position requires project management skills and knowledge of institutional emergency preparedness. The Assistant Director of Emergency engages in a variety of security and emergency management activities including investigations, access control, and collaborating with local law enforcement and first responders.

 

The Assistant Director of Emergency Operations enforces college rules and local, state, and federal laws. The Assistant Director of Emergency also ensures compliance with the fire code as directed by the Bellevue Fire Department. They lead and direct daily shift operations and provide supervision for classified and student staff. The Assistant Director of Emergency develops and tracks budget proposals for emergency management equipment including, AED's, first aid kits, Narcan, fire extinguishers, etc. The Assistant Director of Emergency participates in the discussions on strategic plans for the Public Safety Department. In the absence of the Director and Assistant Director, the Assistant Director of Emergency will serve as the Acting Director of Public Safety.

 

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

 

Position Salary Range: $76,113/year - $110,364/year

 

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hires start no higher than $84,676/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.
