Description
This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. This person provides administrative support to the Bellefontaine location. This position performs a wide variety of administrative support services, all of which contribute to the efficient and professional operation of the Bellefontaine location.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the initial contact to the Bellefontaine location.
Receive and direct incoming phone calls, emails, postal mail and direct to the appropriate office or individual.
Assist students with the steps of enrollment.
Facilitate placement and academic testing.
Complete outreach communication as needed (admission, advising, etc.)
Schedule placement testing, academic testing, and advising appointments.
Perform office management duties including:
- Set up faculty mailboxes, keep supplies stocked, and organize workspace and classrooms.
- Maintain up-to-date flyers at front desk, on displays, and in classrooms.
Update and create standard operating procedure documents.
Assist with special projects and student events as assigned.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of word processing, Outlook, and data entry experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the College community
- Ability to deal with customers in a very courteous and effective manner
- Ability to work day hours
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
