Stantec Mechanical / Senior Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector in Belfast, Ireland

Do you have a passion for Mechanical Engineering in the Water Sector?

Are you driven to create solutions for the unprecedented climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our clients and the wider community? Then come and join us at Stantec!

We are excited to continue our growth journey in Ireland and Northern Ireland and we have exciting plans for expansion in 2024 and beyond.

We look forward to continuing our work with Uisce Eireann on the Engineering Design Services Framework and in Northern Ireland, we are proud to have been appointed to Northern Ireland Water’s IF182 Professional Services Framework. Taoiseach Simon Harris recently opened our new Dublin office, and we have now also moved to a new city centre office in Belfast.

As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking Mechanical and Senior Mechanical Engineers with experience in the water industry to join us. We are flexible with location so the position can be based in Dublin, Belfast or elsewhere.

You will be involved in the whole project life cycle from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support including site surveys and investigations. In line with our Communities of Practice approach, there are opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects including in water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure and environmental sectors.

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will hold responsibility for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.

Stantec provide a number of opportunities to learn and develop from colleagues across the whole UK business. As a Mechanical Engineer you will help develop the team by acting as a mentor or guide to less experienced members within the team.

About you

You will be a Mechanical Engineer with design experience and ideally working toward (or already achieved) Chartership with IMechE.

You will be experienced in producing technical specifications, pump sizing calculations, schedules, reports and familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions. You will be able to provide engineering input to collaborative design outputs, such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.

Experience in the Water sector is an advantage but not essential and we would also be interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within the energy, infrastructure & environmental sectors in a mechanical engineering capacity.

Most importantly, you will embody and support our values of client focus, designing with community in mind, collaboration and service excellence.
