Team/Role Overview

The Operational Risk intermediate analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

What you’ll do

  • Drive the weekly production of the Balance Sheet Exception Report (BSER) and solicits commentary from Operations.

  • Identify BSER balance sheet reduction opportunities.

  • Lead and participate in business engagement discussions aimed to reduce risk and aged exposure.

  • Partner with regional Control teams, document and track action plans with Operations to reduce aging exceptions

  • Ensure BSER consistency and completeness across businesses and regions.

  • Identifies and engages stakeholders at the appropriate level, fosters effective partnerships and acts as a trusted advisor.

  • Production of daily and monthly reporting and commentary that feed multiple internal and Regulatory forums.

  • Participate in the development pipeline for BSER manual touch point reduction and bugs. Reviews existing business intelligence capabilities and look to enhance process by centralizing reporting leveraging tactical and new strategic solutions.

  • Work with Change Leads to submit JIRA for enhancements, test results, and signoff for release.

  • Lead meetings with managers and subject matter experts to define and gather requirements and overall objectives.

  • Participates in governance and stakeholder meetings, produces and circulates status reporting and RAID logs.

  • Create, review and enhance global Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs) and tailor to meet the needs of regional managers and systems.

  • Develop and execute test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met / create test scripts including specific test cases and expected results.

What we’ll need from you

  • Previous experience in similar role.

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and adapt to change

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Project management skills, MCA knowledge.
