Job Summary:

Wickham Glass is a commercial glazing subcontractor located in Wichita, Kansas. Wickham Glass partners with general contractors to complete new and remodel construction projects throughout Wichita and south-central Kansas. Working under the supervision of the lead glazier, the glazier installs aluminum framing and glass products at construction sites.

Responsibilities:

• Read and understand blueprints and specifications to know necessary work details, including color, shape, size, type, and thickness of glass to be installed, framing location, procedures for installation and any scaffolding or other staging items needed before beginning work.
• Loading glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to job site.
• Driving trucks to job sites and unloading glass and materials.
• Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
• Operating hoists or cranes with suction cups to lift heavy glass units.
• Set glass doors into frames and bolt metal hinges, locks, handles and other hardware to attach doors to frames and walls using a level.
• Install pre-assembled metal frameworks for doors and windows before glass panel installation using hand tools.
• Pack loose areas between glass panels and molding or frames with glazing compound, and trim excess material with a glazing knife.
• Lift, hold and secure glass panels and mirrors into position with putty, cement, screws, or bolts.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years working as a glazier or commercial glazier.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Have a valid driver\'s license.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and driving
• Climbing ladders, using boom and scissor lifts, and driving trucks with and without a trailer.
