Upper Chesapeake Health MRI Technologist in Bel Air, Maryland
JOB SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic imaging procedures. Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Works independently and with other health care providers to perform imaging procedures and present images and relative patient information to the Radiologist. Interacts with patients ranging in age from neonate to geriatric.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education & Training: Certification and/or Associate’s degree in Allied Health field (i.e. Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology) required. Must be board certified through ARRT, NMTCB, or ARMRIT. If applicable, must possess a Maryland Board of Physician’s Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine license. BLS required.
Work Orientation & Experience: Minimum of six (6) months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience required.
Skills & Abilities: Visual and hearing abilities sufficient for observing and interpreting technical information provided by a variety of equipment displays, graphic and written sources; sufficient for receiving and understanding job related verbal technical and medical instructions in a busy radiology environment. Ability to steadily perform radiologic procedures in the presence of critically injured or critically ill patients, highly anxious family members, multiple physician requests, maintain patient confidentiality, ability to work cooperatively within a team, ability to adapt to change. Ability to communicate effectively. Critical thinking and problem solving skills. Strong customer service and patient care skills. Effective time management.
