BorgWarner Inc. Senior Production Quality Engineer in Beijing, China

General Description:

The Quality Engineer shall be responsible for project quality and mass production quality, including quality planning, assembly line verification, PPAP preparation, mass production quality controls and improvements, etc. Also support handling supplier and customer related quality issues as well as QMS improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for new project quality and mass production quality.

  • Maintain and improve the quality assurance system.

  • Guarantee the quality of product on site.

  • Create production control plans and inspection instructions, safe launch concept.

  • Ensure the error proofing validation was done according to control plan.

  • Ensure process gage calibration/ MSA was done regularly.

  • Deploy strategy to control/measure critical to quality (CTQ) characteristics, lead CTQ-training.

  • Deploy strategy for statistical process control (SPC)

  • Deploy process audit and product audit.

  • Lead 8D team to resolve quality issues, follow up corrective actions and validation of actions implemented.

  • Prepare the failure catalogue for assembly process and output the weekly and monthly quality report.

  • Oversee the process records library.

  • Deploy continuous improvement according to quality performance.

  • Develop quality planning for new product launch.

  • Collect and prepare PPAP documents and submit to customer.

  • Support to deal with customer complaints and warranty issues.

  • Support SQE to resolve supplier quality issue.

  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned any time.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree or above in mechanical engineering or automotive engineering

  • More than 3 years relevant working experience as a PQE/CQE, OEM experience is preferred

  • Experienced with Quality tools (SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP and APQP)

  • Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8-D) and manufacturing processes required

  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis

  • Experience with corrective actions and preventive actions

  • Experience in resolving customer and supplier problems, containment and process improvement efforts

  • Excellent communications skills, strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
