Microsoft Corporation GCR Digital Native Controller in Beijing, China

  • The GCR Digital Native Controller will partner closely with the GCR Digital Native business leads, to be the trusted Finance advisor in enabling the business growth of the segment across Hongkong, Taiwan, and China. The Controller will have deep insights into Micrsoft cloud, the Digital Native customers and market landscapes, the competition. The candidate will get engaged in all large deals and is able to flag risks and opportunities in a timely manner.

You display a can-do attitude and are able to lead projects and processes improvements initiatives autonomously.

Responsibilities

Partnership:

  • Be the Finance front-end specialist for deal insights and deal construct.

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with all key business stakeholders (DN Leads, Services Leads, Sales Excellence) to ensure Commercial delivers on its finance and business accountabilities

  • Partner with Licensing/Business Desk to optimize deal structuring and closing. Lead end-to-end assessment of deal/customer profitability incl. discount, ECIF, CTE, Financing, COGS etc. (+compliance aspects)

  • Industry analytics and Customer Potential along with Propensity analysis to key stakeholders to assess market opportunities and threats. Use Industry analytics and reporting to enhance the understanding of market opportunities/threats, identify scenarios ready to scale, and develop deeper insights on Azure consumption

  • Leverage the Customer Solutions controller to drive conversations around Consumption and Customer Ads

  • Partner with ROCs on deal-related FX, credit and collections topics

  • Actively engage with BDMs for key /strategic accounts: Sponsorship and TCO Conversations

Finance & Business Excellence:

  • At the Area level, ensure DWR and deal-based investment requests high quality submissions

  • Owns Forecasting, building on SET inputs (Deal Based Forecast) and trend analysis (materiality) to land BG views

  • Oversight EA Renewals to assure desired/targeted renewal rate

  • Lead the financial ROB for the Enterprise business including forecast and budget.

  • Controls & Compliance: Drive compliance in the Segment with focus on Sales Deal Execution and Proactive Risk Management

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in finance positions

  • Cloud expertise, deal structuring knowledge, machine learning/bot experience, and advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended

  • Good compliance understanding / experience for the deal structuring and execution.

  • Fluent in English

  • BA/BS or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, CPA/CA preferred
