DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with assigned organizational unit(s) to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and statistical reporting.

  • Prepares financial reporting, including financial performance, variance explanations, and cost analysis.

  • Executes special projects as assigned. Makes accounting adjustments through appropriate journal entries.

  • Assists with monthly and annual account reconciliations and close activities.

  • Examines a variety of financial statements and transactions for completeness, internal accuracy, and conformance with accounting standards.

  • Learns the Cummins finance approach through contributions to a variety of projects and activities.

  • Participates in team meetings and continuous improvement activities. Presents key learnings and rotation experiences to Finance Development Program panel of finance leadership.

  • Continues work toward applicable certification, as needed.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject required. Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimal relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary:

  • Finance Development Program (FDP) which is focus on entry level program for developing finance talent for Cummins China. This two-years program will expose you to a broad range of business activities while working through rotations in Internal Audit and Control, Manufacture Plant Finance Operation, Shared Services Accounting and Treasury and Tax Management At your successful completion of this structured program, you will be placed into one of these areas of the Finance Department based on your overall performance throughout the rotation, your interest in an area and business needs.

Key program experiences:

  • An orientation to introduce you to the company, FDP program and your teammates

  • Working closely with associates, who are experts in their area of business

  • Formal evaluations after each rotation

  • Interaction with associates across all levels of the company including Senior Executives

  • On the job training specific to your area

  • Various professional development workshops and opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up the program rotation arrangement every 6 months

  • Complete the job requirement on each function rotation at least within below working responsibilities:

  • Involve assessment project of internal audit and internal control over process control, financial reporting, operation efficiency & effectiveness etc. within China territory.

  • Received a solid exposure to Cummins transactional accounting functions in month end closing process, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and AR, AP, inter-company accounting

  • Involved in month and quarterly fiscal process and provide advisory support to Sales & marketing,

  • Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Information Technology and Engineering groups.

  • Responsible for Monthly & Quarterly financial reporting, variance analysis, project financial support to different BU or China level

  • Cash management, Foreign Exchange exposure management, credit control, tax filling & planning, tax compliance
