We are in search of line Cooks for our Food Truck/Catering Business

A line cook on a food truck is a crucial member of the team responsible for preparing and cooking food in a fast-paced mobile kitchen setting. They work closely with the chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that high-quality, delicious food is served efficiently to customers.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, meats, and other food items according to menu specifications. Ensure all items are properly portioned and ready for cooking.

  1. Cooking: Cook a variety of menu items on the food truck's kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, and stovetops. Follow recipes and guidelines to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.

  2. Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen work area, including proper storage of food items, cleaning of equipment, and regular sanitization of surfaces to meet health and safety standards.

  3. Communication: Coordinate effectively with other team members, including the chef and servers, to ensure efficient flow of food preparation and service. Communicate any shortages, menu changes, or special requests promptly to the team.

  4. Quality Control: Monitor food during cooking to ensure it is cooked to perfection with proper temperature, texture, and flavor. Taste dishes regularly for quality assurance and make adjustments as needed.

  5. Speed and Efficiency: Work quickly and accurately to manage multiple orders at once, especially during peak hours. Maintain a sense of urgency to ensure customers' food is prepared and served in a timely manner.

  6. Adaptability: Adapt to changes in the menu or food truck operations, as required. Be flexible to assist in other areas of food preparation or service as needed.

  7. Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of food, following HACCP principles, and maintaining personal hygiene. Regularly inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

Requirements: - Proven experience as a line cook, preferably in a fast-paced kitchen environment. - Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. - Strong knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation. - Basic cooking skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment (e.g., grills, fryers, stovetops). - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Willingness to work flexible schedules, including morning, evenings, and some Weekends.  - Physical stamina and the ability to stand, lift, and carry heavy items.

A line cook on a food truck plays a vital role in delivering exceptional food and customer satisfaction. This position requires dedication, passion for cooking, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and mobile work environment.

Position is for approximatly 20 - 25 hours per week. 

Looking for some experience but willing to train the right person.
