Department Summary:
The System and Mission Analysis Department is charged with identifying, developing and applying new technologies that can address the Government's most challenging Systems Engineering problems. We provide innovative, practical solutions for some of our nation's most critical challenges in defense and intelligence, aviation, civil systems, homeland security, the judiciary, healthcare, and cybersecurity.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Senior Systems and Mission Engineer, you will have the opportunity to leverage and grow your systems engineering expertise by:
Modeling architectures of complex systems using standards-based languages (ex. SysML).
Creating modeling, simulation, and analysis assets to evaluate architectures and processes.
Articulating major uncertainties associated with systems architectures, defining risks and opportunities associated with the uncertainties.
Prototyping technologies to improve Systems Engineering practices or facilitate adoption of these technologies by US Government agencies.
Translating analysis results into actionable recommendations for the US Government agencies.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance.
Experience with systems design and development and multidisciplinary modeling and simulation
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience applying technical skills across multiple subject matter domains, such as healthcare and defense.
Proficiency in one or more of the programming languages for quantitative analyses (ex. MATLAB, Python, R) and/or general-purpose programming languages (ex. Java or C++)
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Systems/Industrial/Aerospace Engineering or other relevant technical fields with a focus on multidisciplinary issues.
Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance.
Experience with Analysis of Alternatives/Trade Space Analysis, Verification, Validation, and Uncertainty Quantification, Design of Experiments, and Data Analytics.
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Java, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, HTML, SQL.
Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning methods and their application to Systems Engineering.
