FMRS Health Systems, Inc. Direct Support Professional in Beckley, West Virginia
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving and a commitment to promoting the independence and dignity of those they serve.
Duties
Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules. Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being. Observe and document client behavior, progress, and any changes in condition. Support clients with memory care strategies and activities tailored to their cognitive abilities. Uphold resident rights by ensuring privacy, dignity, and respect in all interactions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and social workers to develop individualized care plans. Implement safety protocols including CPR and emergency procedures when necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, & Other Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Must maintain an active Food Handlers Permit through the County Health Department; and
- Must have a valid drivers license.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent communications, verbal and written;
- Frequent standing and/or sitting; and
- Ability to perform verbal and nonviolent physical crisis intervention techniques.
