Nike Senior Manager, Energy - NBHD Expression Footwear Color & Materials Design in Beaverton, Oregon
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Sr Manager, Energy – NBHD Expression Footwear Color & Materials Design to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, people management and creativity to help build the future of the NBHD (the collaborations space focused on men’s product). The ideal candidate needs to not only elevate the Nike consumer product experience with a focus on both the art & science of color & materials but also lead a team designers. In this role, you will influence and drive an emotional connection to footwear through the use of narrative and storytelling.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You'll lead the design team to create trend-relevant, narrative-driven concepts. This will require driving product excellence through the connection of design, development, and manufacturing. Through research and deep consumer understanding, you will be on the cutting edge of color and material trends, fashion, art, design and sports-related products.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
On a day to day basis you will be working with a wide-range of internal partners including Footwear and Apparel Color Designers, Developers, and Product Line Managers.
This position has 4-5 direct reports and will report into the Director, Mens Lifestyle Footwear Materials Design

WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent education, experience, or training.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 years of progressively technically challenging design experience, in both color and materials preferred
Direct people management experience is required
Understanding of color trends, color mixing, color compatibility, color placement and materials
Knowledge of product design and development process
Strong verbal, written, visual, and high-profile communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group
Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
Ability to articulate how color & materials can affect product and sales
