Eaton Corporation IT Project Manager Senior Specialist in Beachwood, Ohio

Eaton’s IT team is currently seeking a Project Manager Senior Specialist to join team. This position will be based at our Beachwood, Ohio, Moon TWP, PA, Houston, TX, Galesburg, MI, Raleigh, NC or Menomonee Falls, WI. The position is eligible for hybrid work setup.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $120,075 - $155,000 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Project Manager Senior Specialist will lead projects through initiation, planning, controlling, executing, and closing phases of a project using Eaton-prescribed project management process for multiple complex projects. Leading resources on projects that are not direct reports – matrix organization (8 - 15). Manage project budgets that are less than $1 million (capital and expense). Typical projects are less than 1 year in length. Project are expected to be delivered on-time, on-budget and with zero early life failures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Initiating and Planning

• Draft the project charter; ensure requirements are aligned with the scope and approved by the sponsor

• Work with resource managers to staff projects

• Define and communicate roles for project team

• Develop the project plan with direct input from stakeholders that details the work break down structure, critical path, resources, and effort

• Ensure stakeholders are committed to the plan

• Establish project budget; capital and expense for hardware, software, and labor

• Develop communication strategies with key stakeholders

• Develop risk management plans; identify risks and develop respective mitigation and contingency plans

Execution and Control

• Manage employee, contractor, and supplier deliverables to ensure the project is completed on time per the approved project schedule

• Manage quality of the deliverables. Ensure all requirements have been validated (i.e., traceability matrix) and ensure the user acceptance tests have been developed, approved, and executed to successful completion prior to going live

• Manage the project budget; track effort and project spend; correlate actuals and forecast to the plan (burn rate)

• Lead communications with key stakeholders. Monitor and report on schedule and budget variances. Ensure all communications related to implementation are completed

• Document and drive issues through resolution; escalate to customer, supplier, and Eaton management as necessary

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 7 years of Project Management experience required

• Minimum 3 years of Scrum/Agile work experience required

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of one of the work locations list above will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with project budget management and the ability to manage capital spend on projects.

• Experience managing internal and external labor budgets along with ability to manage third party invoicing for software or services for projects

• Experience with IT Strategic Planning

• Experience with Agile software tools ( i.e., Jira software) and producing Agile artifact

• Experience with software implementation (i.e. HR applications, time & attendance)

Position Criteria:

• Able to understand the system development life cycle (SDLC), integrations, and interdependencies between projects

• Solid understanding of computer hardware and software, data management, application programming, data communications, operating systems, utilities and data security

• Basic to intermediate understanding of DevSecOps principles

• Basic to intermediate experience with modern software development principles including code management, test automation, APIs, microservices, and cloud services.

• Demonstrate understanding of product management and modern product delivery of IT processes

  • Comfortable working directly with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Effective listening skills with the intention of understanding

  • Experience working with diverse, global cultures, matrixed organization and teams

  • Experience leading workshops to reach common designs and solutions

  • Experience getting consensus across the organization and getting buy-in
