WSP USA Winter Road Construction Site Supervisor in BC, Canada

WSP has a new opportunity for a Winter Road Construction Supervisor to join our Applied Solutions team on a variable with benefits basis.
The winter road construction supervisor is responsible for coordinating all site activities and supervises all field personnel as required to complete the construction and maintenance of a winter road on schedule and within budget. This includes supervising all subcontractors, suppliers and field personnel on the project site daily. This position is also responsible for administering and enforcing all WSP health and safety policies and plans on-site.
Some projects are in remote locations and may involve fly-in/fly-out, or drive-in/drive-out on camp sites. Typically, you will work on rotations (2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off) with a cross-shift. Accommodation, meals and travel expenses will be covered by WSP if applicable.
This position will start in January 2025 and complete around April 2025, with potential for other projects afterwards.

What you can expect to do here:
You will be the site supervisor on a site that WSP is Prime Contractor
You will be responsible for the execution of the project scope.
You will always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites and take WSP's Life-Saving rules to heart;
Coordination and supervision of on-site construction activities, including health and safety, within the established budget and scheduling guidelines including daily cost control;
Administering of construction contract, design, and specifications on site;
Maintaining construction schedule of projects;
Tracking costs associated with the work, review with project budget;
Problem-solving site issues and minimizing associated construction delays;
Communication with WSP project manager and project coordinator;
Daily communication with contract administrator or client’s representative;
Daily planning of project tasks to ensure project work adheres to schedule;
Administer subcontracts and PO's through daily communication with subcontractors, suppliers;
Ensuring quality and accuracy of work performed/deliverable;
Identifying potential cost savings and streamlined field methodologies;
Ensuring project deliverables adhere to the drawings and specifications;
Attending on-site project meetings; and,
Other duties as assigned by the project manager, contracts manager or regional leader.
What you'll bring to WSP:
5-7 years supervisory experience;
Ability to manage resources and schedule;
Effective communication skills and working with indigenous contractors;
Experience in winter road construction and maintenance;
Experience clearing and prepping sites for winter investigative drilling and sampling;
Experience in earthworks and/or site remediation and/or civil work;
Experience in the management of Health and Safety and a demonstrated “Safety-First” focus attitude;
Ensuring winter road is capable of supporting the transport loads;
Knowledge of Canadian construction safety laws and regulations, terms and conditions of contracts;
Understanding of equipment resources and efficiency;
Able to travel and extended working hours as required;
This position will require travel to the Northwest Territories and Alberta and work on a remote project site on a rotational basis.
Salary range: $82,900 to $132,200
The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
