The Ocean County Utilities Authority Painter I in Bayville, New Jersey
The Ocean County Utilities Authority, a public regional wastewater treatment agency is presently seeking a Painter. The Painter is responsible to assist in the preparation and painting of Authority structures, buildings, equipment, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The following list of duties for the Painter is not exhaustive:
• Assist more senior Painters in the preparation of surfaces to be painted, and paint same.
• Responsible to erect and work from ladders and scaffolding as necessary.
• Responsible to use, care for, and maintain sandblasting and spraying equipment.
• Assist in the performance of minor building maintenance as may be assigned, including that which is necessary for preparation of painting surfaces.
• Required to perform tasks using respirators.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least three years’ experience in painting, including the use of spray equipment and sandblasting equipment. Must be familiar with the erection of ladders and scaffolding to work in areas otherwise inaccessible. Must have a general knowledge of types of coatings and their use, and proper application to the various surfaces throughout the Authority’s facilities. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. This position requires the applicant to pass a pulmonary function test, a baseline physical and possess a valid New Jersey Driver License.
This work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and the hourly rate is $18.00.
