Job Description:

The Technical Service Representative will deliver top-tier field service, installation, and support for waterjet units, providing technical assistance via phone and email. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and field training for high-pressure intensifiers and ancillary equipment. Light office work such as accurate record-keeping, basic computer tasks, and effective organizational skills are also required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair services for waterjet equipment at customer sites and remotely.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in person, via phone, and by email.
  • Deliver comprehensive training on the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of waterjet equipment.
  • Document customer interactions and field service activities thoroughly.
  • Collaborate in the development of new products and technologies by providing customer feedback.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Engineering and Sales departments, sharing insights from the field.
  • Process warranty claims and requests for replacement parts in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist other service technicians in their territories with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Travel up to 70% of the time, often with short notice, to provide on-site customer support.
  • Provide remote phone support and assistance to customers when not traveling.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical skills with demonstrated expertise in electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and adapting to new ideas and technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude, show initiative, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to type 40+ words per minute.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
