About this position:

  • This vacancy is located at Capital Area Human Services District's Adult Behavioral Health Clinics.

  • Experience in Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse

  • Licensure as a Register Nurse (RN) or a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) plus Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is required in order to qualify. There is no substitution for this requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of an active, unencumbered, unrestricted and valid Louisiana registered nurse license to practice professional nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state plus an active, valid Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or temporary permit.

Function of work:

Provide clinical services to clients at the Capital Area Human Services District's Behavioral Health Clinics.

Examples of Work

EXAMPLES BELOW ARE A BRIEF SAMPLE OF COMMON DUTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS JOB TITLE. NOT ALL POSSIBLE TASKS ARE INCLUDED.

  • Performs psychiatric evaluations on behavioral health and co-occurring mental health and addiction patients.

  • Interviews patient to elicit presenting problem and history, make diagnoses and initial treatment plan.

  • Complete progress notes and sign at the time of service in compliance with charting and billing requirements.

  • Provide crisis intervention and evaluation when needed

  • Complete medical records and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policy and procedure

  • Prescribes psychotropic medications, modifies medication treatment as clinically indicated.

  • Work with other clinical staff to ensure necessary and appropriate resource linkage
