Oracle Senior Software Engineer - Big Data Health Analytics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Job Description
At Oracle our exciting mission to build a premier health data platform with intelligent services, brings about several interesting technical challenges. As part of this team, you will accelerate several architectural efforts - achieve orders of magnitude data processing latency improvement, creating comprehensive patient health records that can scale to entire populations of nations, creating a health data lake at massive scale to enable a host of intelligent health services. Healthcare applications are mission critical requiring advancement to highest levels of availability and disaster recovery capabilities. We will leverage the strengths of Oracle Cloud and build software that leverages OCI services.
We're looking for a highly skilled experienced engineers to design and build high-scale, cloud-based data processing systems that can handle massive amounts of data with low latency. You will work in software engineering teams performing design, implementing code, testing, delivering software to customers and continue supporting the software in production.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Participate and contribute to design discussions to build distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.
Implement and build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure.
Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, to quality assurance, and to production.
Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high.
Optimize data processing pipelines for orders of magnitude higher throughput and faster latencies.
Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required
Familiarity with distributed systems
Hands on experience writing code with modern procedural programming languages such as Java, C#, C/C++, or Ruby.
Good understanding of design concepts and ability to design software components in a distributed system.
Experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code into production and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
Effective communication of technical ideas verbally and in writing, including technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with the team and other stakeholders.
Preferably, production experience with Cloud and data processing technologies.
Experience with RESTful microservices, Big Data processing (e.g. Hadoop), and Cloud services (e.g., OCI, AWS, etc.) preferred.
5+ years of experience of relevant experience
US Citizenship and willingness to get security clearance is required for this role.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
