Budget Analyst 2 (AS 613)

Hourly: $17.18 - $33.71

Monthly: $2,978 – $5,843

Annually: $35,734 – $70,117

Budget Analyst 3 (AS 615)

Hourly: $19.67 – $38.59

Monthly: $3,410 – $6,689

Annually: $40,914 – $80,267

Office of School System Financial Services

Job Focus Areas :

This Budget Analyst position is located in the Office of School System Financial Services. This position serves as a lead analyst specializing in central allocation/award processing, allocation review and compliance verification, comprehensive reporting and analysis for all funds received and utilized by sub-grantees through awards from the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) . The duties of this positions includes specialized work relative to school finance issues including public school districts, Type 2, Type 3, and Type 5 charter school programs. The tasks performed by this position include program administration, programmatic review, program monitoring, and extensive program evaluation and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A baccalaureate degree.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.

Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:

A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.

College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.

NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Monitors and forecasts revenues and expenditures to identify trends and potential funding problems.

Prepares required reports and financial statements which include the compilation and analysis of data.

Proposes alternatives to spending and revisions in authorized budget.

Reviews, projects, reports, and proposes changes to performance indicators.

Prepares budget adjustment forms as necessary to draw or transfer funds.
