Staff Psychiatrist Genesee County Mental Health Full time position with benefits. Provisional appointment pending Civil Service examination. DISTIGUISHING FEAT U RES OF THE CLASS This is a professional position requiring patients. lncumbent is responsible for professional medical and psychiatric services for FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS. ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Thorough professional knowledge of the practice of psychiatry; good knowledge of current psychiatric treatment and trends; the ability to supervise and instruct staff members; the ability to develop good community relations; the ability to write clear and concise reports; the ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating patient condition and making decisions on an appropriate course of treatment; Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals with different mental health issues, cultural backgrounds and ages. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a license to practice medicine in the state of New York, three (3) years of formal or supervised training in an in-patient or out-patient mental health program plus two (2) additional years of clinical experience. MINIMUM SPECIAL REQUIRMENT FOR APPOINT: Possession of a valid New York State Driver's License at the time of appointment, and maintenance of such license throughout the tenure of employment in the position.
