Responsibilities
The Associate Vice President, Revenue Integrity, Middle Cycle will oversee and drive operations of the mid-revenue cycle for the organization.
Responsibilities:
Supports the development and implementation of new policies, workflows, goals, and processes/projects that affect revenue. Coordinates communication with Information Technology (IT) to ensure appropriate systems,enhancements, and tools are utilized to effectively manage Middle Revenue Cycle Operations. Ensures projects and initiatives at all levels of the Middle Revenue Cycle are completed timely and thoroughly.
Monitors performance goal metrics that relate to revenue capture, facility & professional Coding, & administrative Health Information Management functions, including Coding, release of information, chart completion, & deficiency management. Maintains an appropriate accountability infrastructure to hold team members accountable to KPIs and initiative targets.
Meets regularly with clinical peers and other revenue producing departments to assure appropriate synchronization between clinical activity, revenue capture, and clinical documentation.
Builds and supports effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and organizations.
Evaluates services provided by external vendors to ensure best pricing and effective results related to external vendors, tools, software etc.
Monitors vendor performance and provides needed resolutions. Leads and coordinates with other departments the enterprise-wide strategic pricing analysis to support contract negotiations for all managed care payer contracting initiatives.
Ensures compliance with federal and state laws pertaining to the revenue capture and reimbursement.
Develops and supports internal controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded.
Oversees revenue optimization identification and education departments with respect to the use and maintenance of the Charge Description Master (CDM) and charging philosophy.
Works collaboratively with the revenue-producing department leadership and clinical care sites to ensure all charges are being documented, captured, and reconciled.
Requirements
Education:
Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.
A bachelor's degree in health care administration, finance, health information management, business or clinical degree (RN, pharmacist), or related field is preferred
A Master's level degree is preferred.
Ten (10) years of progressive responsibility in healthcare with at least Four (4) years of increasing management-level responsibility for multispecialty departments and multiple locations. managing complex revenue cycle operations is preferred. (Master's Degree could satisfy 2 years of experience requirement).
Highly prefer prior coding (HIM or Pro fee/Physician coding) and Charge Capture knowledge.
