Job Overview:

The Senior Principal Logistics Trade Compliance Specialist is tasked with solving unique and complex problems that broadly impact the business. They must proactively identify and solve the most complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business. The Senior Principal Logistics Trade Compliance Specialist is considered a specialist in Logistics & Trade Compliance, and they offer a broad base of knowledge about the Supply Chain function. The Senior Principal Logistics Trade Compliance Specialist impacts the direction and resource allocation of programs and projects in their discipline and works within general functional policies and industry guidelines. The Senior Principal Logistics Trade Compliance Specialist role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Logistics & Trade Compliance challenges.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Logistics specialists and support issue resolution

  • Liaise with Expediting leadership to facilitate the status of project goods and materials

  • Ensure compliance with Unifi processes

  • Recognize when Management of Change (MOC) is required

  • May be selectively asked to participate in projects to assess or develop new Logistics tools

  • Actively solve problems to resolve logistics-related issues

  • Support execution of the logistics project tendering and vendor selection process

  • Enforce the use of project-specific specifications (e.g., packing & marking instructions)

  • May conduct onsite logistics surveys to ensure equipment can be transported to the job site

  • Ensure review of transport and lifting sketches as needed

  • Support the Logistics performance review process

  • Support the budget breakdown and forecasting of logistics-related costs

  • Support the project status reporting process

  • Manage and execute logistics-related operational matters in line with project requirements and cost-effectively

  • Ensure mobilization and demobilization efforts for project cargo are carried out compliantly with relevant regulations

  • Operate by all company guidelines and procedures

  • Check and validate freight forwarders’ invoices

  • Manage the appointment of approved Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers for logistics-related shipments

  • Ensure the operations are in line with the company policies in terms of Trade Compliance

  • Coordinate and manage cargo transportation activities for the project vessels and project cargo

  • Review of project load lists and cargo classes to ensure project compliance with all relevant regulations

  • Liaise with internal/external stakeholders

  • Comply with regular reporting requirements

  • Use systems and data entry to satisfy record-keeping requirements

  • Bid solicitation, award, and execution of logistics transactions

  • Liaise with Logistics Service Providers, Shipping Agents, Customs Brokers, and internal departments, including project teams, Engineering, Marine, and Traffic

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management (or a relevant discipline) or HSD/GED/IGCSE with 15 years of relevant experience

  • 10-16 years of relevant experience

  • Must have heavy transport experience, configuration, sourcing, and capital project logistics and must know about Multi/Inter-model transport

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Demonstrate attention to detail, reliability, and ability to learn new topics and technology quickly

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

  • Well-versed in Logistics systems used to support the process in support of project execution

  • Familiar enough with trade compliance to recognize when to seek guidance
