ROLE PURPOSE

The primary role of the Supply Chain Planning Manager is the management of the team to:

  • Produce optimized supply plans, each month for the medium-term horizon. The supply plan must ensure a continuous and efficient supply of finished goods (FG) products to customers, using a minimum amount of inventory to maximize efficiency targets, minimize working capital costs, and conserve cash by managing stock levels.

  • Set team targets to achieve the medium-term plan (MTP) and build constructive relationships with commercial / supply chain / OMG process owners to ensure full cooperation.

  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve the process and set KPIs to monitor the progress.

  • Develop the team to ensure future growth and continuity of business is maintained.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    People & Process Management, Implementation & Generation

  • Based on the MTP, agree on targets for the team and manage the cascade of objectives.

  • Set individual personal development plans and targets for each team member and manage the progress.

  • Lead the supply chain aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) implementation in process and skillset development.

  • Manage the corresponding End-Of-Life processes (inventory, SKU, reduction, etc).

  • Drive the implementation of a solution-based process methodology.

  • Define and implement the process of innovation throughout the wider supply chain.

  • Build constructive relationships with commercial / supply chain / OMG process owners to ensure full cooperation across organisation.

  • The position has an important role in framing perspective for decision-makers in the organization through the Supply Balancing and S&OP process.

  • Ensure the execution of regular planning activities throughout the course of the Supply Planning Calendar

  • Occasional support of the Planning Team in day-to-day planning activities

    Accountability

    Manage the effectiveness of the current supply planning processes to improve:

  • Costs/efficiency

  • Supply Chain network

  • Working capital usage

  • Inventory holding and stock rotation.

  • Information flow/visibility and reporting

  • Agility/flexibility of the supply chain

  • Innovation

  • Material production planning and material availability planning

  • Capacity planning for distribution centre (SOE)

  • Obtain business consensus and approval for Supply plan reviews

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery capability

  • Ensure that the supply review process is followed and is provided as input to the S&OP step of the process. Consolidate input of supply if needed. Make sure that supply constraints are clearly explained with options to make trade-offs.

  • Use metrics and analytical tools to manage areas for opportunity and change.

    Process Stability

  • Manage and support process improvement to ensure business requirements are understood and implemented

  • Develop best practices and KPIs, tools for process analysis, mapping, and redesign.

  • Quality assures process input and output from other team members and process owners.

  • Analysis and mapping of un-documented processes including embedded historical knowledge where necessary.

  • Ownership of the collation and mapping of document, information and system flows throughout the wider Glory Global Solutions supply chain.

  • Manage and develop holistic supply chain service measures and KPIs.

  • Ensure that the supply planning process is sustained to the intended level of maturity.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience

  • Outsourcing experience would be beneficial.

  • Supplier management experience.

  • Ability to establish credibility through knowledge/experience base.

  • Familiarity with a wide range commercial processes throughout a single business and the broader supply chain

  • Familiarity with Project Planning & Management tools & techniques

  • Commercial process experience is beneficial.

  • Experience at senior planner level

    ​​​​ Qualifications:

  • Likely to degree level or equivalent experience.

  • Additional supply chain qualifications or equivalent technical experience necessary

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A proven self-starter who actively seeks to learn

  • Experience using Oracle Demantra and Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) is desirable or an equivalent expertise. For example, SAP APO or SNP

  • Team Leader in day-to-day management and development of the team

  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to understand and communicate cross-functionally and with project team members/ stakeholders who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines and cultures.

  • Engagement, encouragement, and motivation are key.

  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.

  • Strong process analysis & mapping skills.

  • Supply Chain Network Optimisation with a focus on inventory.

  • Language skills: Fluency in verbal and written English.
