Custom Job Purpose:

This position exists to perform responsible and specialized support work in supervising Title I program design, implementation and evaluation and to monitor compliance with Title I law.

Essential Functions of this Job

Provides educational support and accountability affecting personnel, programs and services within the Title I programs including school improvement grant initiatives. Supervises program design, implementation and evaluation in areas such as mathematics, reading, and parental involvement. Researches supplemental instructional programs, activities, and materials.

Evaluates programs and updates program guidelines as needed. Coordinates programs with other personnel.

Provides continuing in-service programs to teachers and administrators. Works with administrators and school personnel in improving the effectiveness of teachers. Interprets federal guidelines for programs. Consults with teachers, principals, specialists, tutors and other staff in areas of assignment. Works with teachers and tutors in classroom management, curriculum planning and techniques of teaching. Monitors budgets for Title I programs.

Works with other groups in program development and evaluation. May assist principals in evaluating performance of program personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum program design, implementation and evaluation. Considerable knowledge of school administration and knowledge of the federal program guidelines. Ability to design, implement, and evaluate Title I Programs. Ability to communicate and coordinate with administrators, principals, school personnel, and the public. Considerable organizational skills. Ability to express oneself orally and in writing. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree and certification. Certification in educational leadership or supervision and/or administration preferred. Minimum of three years' teaching experience. Teaching experience in Title I school(s) preferred.

Work Context:

Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with students, internal and external contacts, and with the public.

Physical Environment:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.

Requires travel to schools and worksites within the district.
