Washington County Mental Health Services Child, Adolescent and Family Clinician – Clinician II in BARRE, Vermont

Reports to:     Intensive Care Services Director

DESCRIPTION :   Clinician to provide brief, solution-focused, strength based in-home therapeutic and case management services to families who have children at risk of placement out of their home due to abuse, neglect, emotional challenges or unmanageability, or who have children being reunited following an out-of-home placement.  Regular full time with benefits. 

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Have individual, child and family therapy experience.

  • Possess excellent case management skills for children, youth and families.

  • Possess demonstrated crisis intervention skills as evidenced by description of previous crisis situation intervention and/or trainings attended or a willingness to learn and integrate ongoing training and supervision related to crisis intervention.

  • Create and participate in treatment teams, IEP meeting, school consultation, client advocacy, behavior management consultation, and daily living skills instruction.

  • Demonstrate both oral and written clinical interviewing and assessment skills.

  • Able to work both as a team member and independently.

  • Possess excellent organizational and follow-up skills. 

  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner utilizing an electronic medical record.

  • Be reliable and flexible.

  • Thrives in a fast paced environment and able to transition seamlessly from one task to another.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : 

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services and enrollment in a master’s degree program required.

  • Must be willing to adhere to, and demonstrate, family strength perspective and work as part of a cohesive team. 

  • Sound ethics, good boundaries and diplomacy are essential. 

  • Must possess an excellent driving record, valid driver’s license, and be willing to use own safe, reliable and insured vehicle. 

  • Must be willing to work into the evening 2 nights a week, schedule can be flexible.

    Preferred: Master’s degree in human services and experience working with children and families preferred.
