Description

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Business Process Excellence department located at our Barceloneta facility. As an Intern, you will a few sentences describing the basic purpose of the internship. The Business Process Excellence Intern will play a key role in supporting the improvement of operational efficiency at Heartgard and Nexgard Value Streams This individual will support and lead continuous improvement implementations by applying operational excellence tools. This individual will also need to work in collaboration with Value streams process specialists, engineers, operators on the shop floor, and other leaders within the organization.

Results will be presented to the Site Leadership team at the Project Review Meeting as part of the Site Portfolio Management Governance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support and/or co-lead assigned continuous improvement projects focused on Value Stream opportunities and efficiencies utilizing structured problem-solving approach (Lean, Six Sigma Concepts desired)

  • Develop recommendations and implement improvements to support Value Stream continuous improvement goals, requirements, and sustainment of improvements.

  • Provide summaries, conclusions, and presentations related to project completion and findings.

  • Learn and support relevant processes, standards, and policies.

Requirements

  • Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing

  • Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship

  • Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred

  • Major or minor in related field of internship

  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university

  • Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fully Bilingual in Spanish and English. Capable to speak and write in both languages.

  • Computer Software Knowledge and Experience, Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Strong organization skills, problem solving, and teamwork player

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Basic Statistical Analysis

  • Capable of performing critical thinking analysis and reports using statistical analysis, process maps, diagrams, facilities layout, and any other analytical tools.

  • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to details

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
