Myers Industries, Inc. Supply Chain Analyst in Barberton, Ohio

Job Overview The Supply Chain Analyst manages the PO creation process and inventory management to support plant manufacturing requirements. Material Management responsibilities include material forecasting, inventory management, in-bound material logistics coordination. This role partners with Contract Manufacturing Manager(s), Plant Personal, Purchasing, and the Business functions to execute material needs for production planning, scheduling, and effective supplier management. Team member for continuous improvement initiatives and for the Sales & Operations Planning reviews. Special projects can include: productivity projects, supply chain optimization, process improvement, and supplier stocking programs. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forecast's demand, monitors production activities both internally and externally (contract manufacturers) for materials (raw material and alternative materials).
  • Implements inventory management plan to ensure that the plant and outsource partners have material needs for production, while maintaining inventory levels to meet inventory goals.
  • Plans, forecasts and issues purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Coordinate logistic activities.
  • Audit external railcar logistics charges for accuracy and invoice approval.
  • Implement material management strategy, which supports business strategies based on market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manages activities related to strategic purchasing direction, material requirements planning, inventory targets, and warehousing requirements.
  • Participate in updating supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
  • Track KPIs and reports on Supply Chain Performance.
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated track record of achieving results in a team based and collaborative environment.
  • Experience in building business relationships and negotiating.
  • Strength in the following skill sets: verbal, written, analytical and problem-solving, organization and project management skills.
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience in supply chain or related field, such as purchasing, logistics, production planning, or warehousing.
