Insurance Verification Specialist

What You'll Do:

We are looking for an Insurance Verification Specialist to join our growing team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform verification of benefits and initiate prior authorization on referrals received from the Central Admissions Manager and/or Clinical Evaluators.

  • Utilize insurance portals to verify benefits and obtain authorizations

  • Completes all necessary financial assessments and documentation, and uploads to PointClickCare prior to admission.

  • Call other nursing homes to check days used for Medicare patients.

  • Ensures that the pre-admission paperwork is complete as required by National Health Care's policy

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of an Insurance Verification Specialist include:

  • Education and/or Experience- Associate's Degree in Business and/or 3-5 years directly related health care experience

  • Knowledge of verification of benefits, Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance payor sources.

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the admission process within a nursing facility.
