Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Ltd is accepting online applications for the position of Development Geophysicist (Fixed Term) located in Bangkok, Thailand through July 9, 2024 at 11:59PM (Thailand time).

This is a fixed term position for one year.

The Development Geophysicist position will work within a GOT (Gulf of Thailand) Central ES team.

The ES work process is a fast-paced, standardized approach to project development, well planning, and reserves tracking that relies heavily on IT solutions.

This position is an expert in all aspects of development geophysics.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support efforts to streamline and improve Geophysics processes and tools and will pursue other IT-related opportunities needed in support of streamlining ES workflows.

  • Seismic interpretation and seismic amplitude analysis

  • Subsurface structural mapping and Sand-mapping

  • Well planning (including horizontal)

  • Development well planning, well operations, and model-building

  • Ensure delivery of planned Thailand P1U reserves additions from drilling and new well/platform location identification via the Technical Managers assurance reviews of new wells, infills, waterfloods and an initial completion review (ICR’s).

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GOT extensional & fluvial depositional environment important.

  • Teamwork: Able to work in cross functional teams & perform detailed subsurface assessments. Comfortable making trade-off decisions & working closely with other functions. Demonstrated ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment.

  • ​Proficient experience in all aspects of development geophysicist: subsurface structural mapping, petrophysics, stratigraphic correlation, sand-mapping, reservoir quality assessment, analogy-based reserves estimation, development well planning, and well operations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, process-driven, actively drilling activity.

  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to convey concepts and objectives in presentations and technical reports.

  • Demonstrate critical We Lead behaviors relevant to current business conditions.

  • Digital and data science knowledge is a plus.
