Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production Ltd is accepting online applications for the position of Development Geologist (Fixed Term) located in Bangkok, Thailand through July 9, 2024 at 11:59PM (Thailand time).

This is a fixed term position for one year.

The Development Geologist position will work within the GOT Central ES team.

The ES work process is a fast-paced, and standardized approach to well planning and reserves tracking. This position will support new platform development, future infill development, well targeting, well operations, managing oil & gas reservoirs, and supporting the annual reserves process. The work involves pore pressure/temperature interpretation, stratigraphic correlation, well log evaluation, and using an analogy-based reserves system.

This position is an expert in all aspects of Development Geology.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Well log interpretation , Stratigraphic correlation.

  • Well correlation and Sand-mapping.

  • Reservoir quality assessment, analogy-based reserves estimation

  • Development well planning, well operations, and model-building

  • Digital and data science knowledge is a plus.

    Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of GOT extensional & fluvial depositional environment important.

  • Teamwork: Able to work in cross functional teams & perform detailed subsurface assessments. Comfortable making trade-off decisions & working closely with other functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build team consensus and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in multi-discipline, multi-cultural environment.

  • Communication: Demonstrated ability to convey concepts and objectives in presentations and technical reports.

  • Proficient experience in all aspects of development geology: subsurface structural mapping, petrophysics, stratigraphic correlation, sand-mapping, reservoir quality & pore-pressure assessment, analogy-based reserves estimation, development well planning, and well operations (WFO rules, call TD, losses, pressure pts., & squeezes).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, process-driven, actively drilling asset using Petrel, PowerBI, Spotfire, DOGIS, TCRS, CURTMAP, etc.

  • Digital and data science knowledge is a plus.
