Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer 2 in Bangalore, India

We are looking for an outstanding Software Engineer to join the Strategic Missions and Technologies (SMT) team to work on an exciting new endeavor that shapes how customers bank on the power of AI. At SMT, our mission is to incubate and scale technologies with truly transformative potential, such as the ability to fundamentally change the way the industrial scientist harnesses the power of AI to invent new solutions.

Our team is chartered with building a platform to enable rapid scientific discovery through Generative Science, utilizing advanced AI, domain-specific models, and the orchestration of tools across various scientific fields such as chemistry, life sciences, and physics. We innovate quickly, collaborate, learn from experience and data, provide input to improve features, think creatively, laugh and have fun, all while solving challenging customer and partner problems.

Responsibilities

As a SDE you will contribute to the product vision and be responsible for architecting solutions from the ground-up.

You will

Take features from ideation to successful global roll out

Act as an expert code and design reviewer and mentor other engineers

Accelerate development velocity for all engineers and deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase

Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents

Build strong cross group collaboration with other cross-geo teams to remove blockers and drive for comprehensive end-end service delivery

Leverage other data platforms (open source and within Microsoft) for building solutions

To thrive in this position, you should be a creative and analytical thinker, technical, and committed to excellence. Ability to lead complex projects with a strong record of end-to-end delivery of high-quality products is a huge plus. You should be willing to learn from our customers and your peers. Experience with cloud computing, enterprise products and driving adoption would be a plus.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial software development

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related field

  • Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software

  • Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn and grasps concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Great problem-solving skills and outstanding drive for results

  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence

  • Self-starter, who proactively identifies problems and drives for resolution

  • Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD) is a plus
