Nielsen’s audience measurement team is looking for a highly skilled backend developer with a strong passion for data and cutting-edge technologies.
The candidate will collaborate with Product, Data Science & operations teams to ensure that the software is built per specifications and with the highest quality. The candidate must be a self starter with a desire to understand our unique business and the associated technical challenges. This requires a self-managed strong technical candidate that can take special projects from inception to completion.

Requirements
Technical skills
A degree in computer science or equivalent
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in server-side development working on several complex projects
Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Servers and related services.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Spark, Scala, Java, Python and SQL.
Good knowledge of RDBMS, database designing, and query optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Good English (verbal AND written)
Willing to provide support as needed on weekends and evenings.

Strong understanding of data modeling, database design, data warehousing concepts and distributed systems principles

Working knowledge of version controlling systems like GitLab, clear understanding of Gitflow workflow, and understanding of the overall CI/CD process
