This is an office-based position in Bangalore, India.

Purpose and Scope

This position, using agile ways of working, will manage i) selected projects of GBS intelligent operations initiatives ii) business case tracking for the project’s portfolio and iii) ensuring the tracking of the investments and benefits of all initiatives, managing business cases and reporting. Preliminary focus will be project management and business cases management. Projects may include transition management, process standardization, tools implementation and others GBS related initiatives.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Working with leaders across corporate functions to support implementation of fully agile ways of working in GBS, drive BPO consolidation, track business cases for all initiatives and be part of Value Teams to define Vendor Management and frameworks across all functions. This position will also develop and own the strategic road map for execution of the assigned projects/ initiatives.

  • Leadership: Work closely with global finance team in Japan to define needed management reporting structures and implement it. Execute a comprehensive approach to tracking investments and benefits for the assigned projects initiatives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner enterprise wide ensuring smooth execution of assigned projects. Especially drive alignment across the CFO function.

  • Performance Metrics: Set and follow key performance indicators (KPIs and OKRs) to measure the success of the assigned initiatives.

  • Innovation & Technology: Identify and leverage technology needs for projects to enhance self-service capabilities, streamline processes, and deliver assigned initiatives. Work closely with Digital Product Owners.

Stakeholder Engagement: Present insights and strategies to senior leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating the value of CFO led initiatives. Stakeholder management at projects and PMO level, including Global Process Owners, DigitalX and functional management.

  • People Management: Manage project value teams as per the Agile methodology. Ensure use of agile tools like retro meetings to drive engagement and transparency.

  • Data driven engagement: Ensure data analysis are provided for project decisions. Escalate the risks and opportunities. Ensure proper documentation of the projects.

  • Skills and capabilities development: Develop and maintain a network across corporate functions leadership to quickly identify those with necessary skills and capabilities needed for value teams in GBS

  • Support the GBS Head and PMO in the execution and tracking of the most important programs. Collaborate closely with Astellas Agile and Transformation Office standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years GBS / shared services experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or related fields. A master's degree is preferred.

  • 4+ years of projects management experience with a proven track record of delivering in an international environment.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage projects or small initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within specified timelines and budgets.

  • Good time management, planning and scheduling skills, strong attention to detail.

  • Team player, collaborative, relationship oriented, good decision and problem-solving ability. Strong understanding of business cases (business & financial acumen) and financials related to the projects consistent past delivery of varied types of projects in relevant areas of the business

  • Ability to present complex issues to top management and contribute to discussions in order to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.

  • 3+ years working in matrixed multinational companies.

  • Past participation in large culture focused transformational projects.

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred

  • Experience with Japanese culture/ working with Japanese companies.

  • Proven experience in driving change and managing resistance within an organization.

  • Project management certification.

  • Agile knowledge and certification.

  • Relevant experience with working in and/or implementing Agile Working methodologies.

Working Environment

  • This position is hybrid-based in India, Bangalore and will require on-site work during the build of location and occasional, as per need in the later stage of the set-up of the hub in India

  • Potential for international travel as required.
